This trip promises to rock your socks off as you will embark on a 65m Waterfall Abseil try your hand at Kloofing, jumping from 3 metres to 22 metres high.

Take note you will be hiking to the various rock pools and abseil so wear appropriate shoes.

It might look a little crazy – it is!

We will have the following stops:

Itineraries

Stop 1

Arrival

Clients meet at: Pitstop/Grille Shack, Clarence Drive Off R44, Gordons Bay Central, Cape Town, 7151

Time:
Summer: 1 December – 30 April @ 8:00am
Winter: 1 May – 30 November @ 08:30am

Arrival time may change due to size of group and or other hindrances, disruptions and inconveniences.

Stop 2

Breakfast

Arrival at Pitstop Lodge for a delicious breakfast

Stop 3

Cliff jumping

Enter the Gorge for a +/- 30 minute walk/hike to the first cliff jumping pool

Stop 4

Thunder falls

The next +/- 30 minute walk takes you to the top of Thunder Falls.

Stop 5

Abseil

Abseil down Thunder Falls. (65 metres)

Stop 6

Hike

Hike out of the gorge.

Stop 7

Refreshments at the lodge

Arrive back at Pitstop Lodge for a refreshing beer (welcome to order a meal at your own cost, see menu link on website)

Fynbos

Kamikaze Kanyon is in the Fynbos biome and forms part of the Cape Floral Kingdom. There are 6 floral kingdoms globaly and the Cape Floral Kingdom is the smallest and the most diverse per unit of area.

The diversity of fynbos plants is extremely high, with over 9000 species of plants occurring in the biome of which 6200 are endemic, i.e. growing nowhere else in the world.

Although the Fynbos biome only comprises 6% of the area of southern Africa, it has half the total number of plant species on the subcontinent – and has almost 1 in 5 of all African plant species so far described.

• Snacks/Drinks during the hike. The Pitstop Tuckshop, will be open to purchase a drink and light snacks before you set out into the gorge.

• Small Rucksack to carry harness (in winter your wet suit too)
